Elderly man's body found in Canberra

Police are treating as suspicious the death of an elderly man whose body was discovered at a residence in a Canberra suburb.

Police said the dead man's friends found the 71-year-old's body at the residence in Phillip and called police at about 2pm (AEDT) on Wednesday.

Police set up a crime scene and say they're treating the death as suspicious.

ACT detectives are investigating.
