Man arrested over body in backyard west of Melbourne

Victoria Police Homicide Squad detectives have arrested a man following the suspicious death of a 79-year-old man in Yarraville, west of Melbourne.

Police were called to the Fehon Street home around 2pm where they discovered the elderly man's body in the backyard of his home.

The cause of the man's death is unknown but police are treating it as suspicious.

A 49-year-old West Melbourne man was arrested and is in police custody.
