Lucky escape for six injured in raceway crash

Six young males had a lucky escape at a Sydney raceway today after a crash.

Ambulances attended Eastern Creek Raceway at about 3pm after receiving multiple calls.

Inspector Phil Templeman said six people, aged from 14 to their early 20s, had been injured.

Although none were seriously injured, they suffered seatbelt abrasions and lacerations to the face.

Some were immobilised before being moved and taken to hospital.

However, all were in a stable condition.

Insp Templeman said he understood the accident had occurred during a race meet.

"Surprisingly, they were all quite calm," he said.
