Man charged after elderly woman found unconscious in Sydney home
A man has spent the night behind bars after an elderly woman was found unconscious at a home in Sydney's north yesterday.
Police and paramedics were called to a home on Bronhill Avenue, East Ryde at about 8.30pm where they found the 85-year-old woman with serious injuries.
She was treated at the scene, then rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was set up at the home and detectives arrested a 60-year-old man who is known to the victim.
He was charged with domestic violence assault and refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
