Duo escape crashing under truck

A white Mitsubishi Magna was left resembling a squashed toy, its roof ripped off, after it careered into the back of the parked truck in a high-speed crash in western Sydney last night.

But somehow the car's driver and his passenger managed to climb out and walk away almost uninjured.

Emergency workers were called to the scene at Elizabeth Street, Wetherill Park, about 9.45pm after the car lost control at high speed and smashed into the truck.

The driver and passenger, both young men, were assessed at the scene but they did not have any injuries that required a trip to hospital, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.

NSW Police did not have any further details except to say that officers continue to investigate.
