Four Adelaide students hospitalised after prescription drug deal

Four students have been banned from a school in Adelaide's southern suburbs, after one allegedly supplied the others with prescription drugs, landing them in hospital.

The drugs scare at Reynella East College on Monday, revealed exclusively by 9NEWS, has been met with a swift disciplinary response.

"The education department and the school have very, very clear consequences for drug-taking," said Principal Caroline Green.

"All four students have lost the right to remain at school at the moment."

The school's tough anti-drug stance, which will also include a danger warning to all students, has been welcomed by parents.

A South Australia Police spokesperson confirmed an investigation was ongoing.

The students involved were all aged between 13 and 15.
