Drug-dealing Sydney socialite Lisa Stockbridge sentenced

Sydney socialite turned drug dealer Lisa Stockbridge was today sentenced in a Sydney court after pleading guilty to the ongoing supply of cocaine in some of Sydney's most affluent suburbs.

Stockbridge was supposed to be sentenced in January but time ran out for the 43-year-old mother today after a series of delays.

She pleaded for her freedom at a hearing last month, citing fights with other inmates and a lack of fresh produce available to prison inmates.

Judge Peter Whitford today sentenced Stockbridge to two-and-a-half years. She previously served eight months in jail before being released on bail.

The judge said she was motivated by profit and was a capable business woman, who as a recreational drug user herself considered the use of cocaine and ecstasy as normal.

With a client list of almost 200 people, she would text them and meet to sell drugs.

She had previously admitted that her high-society drug dealing empire netted up to $20,000 a week - until police bugged her car and she was busted in December, 2013.

Stockbridge's lawyer, Brett Galloway, said that although his client is upset with the sentence, she will serve the time and he does not see her appealing.

"I think the sentence was fair and reasonable," Mr Galloway said.
