Drivers almost sideswiped by kangaroo at pace

The pair were travelling down a desolate stretch of road on Saturday when the animal bounded across a field at pace and sailed past their windscreen.

The roo was so close to their car that the animal’s tail clipped the car’s antenna, breaking it in two.

“Woah!” the pair can be heard exclaiming, with the car’s dash cam capturing the fury creature’s extraordinary leap.

As the animal passes, the car’s cabin descends into silence with the men’s breathing becoming deep.

“F—k,” one of the men finally says, breaking the silence.

Moments pass before gasps and small fits of laughter can be heard.

The video, which was uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia’s Facebook page, has been shared more than 330,000 times since Saturday.

Like the driver and his passenger, social media users have also been left stunned by the footage.

“Skip got skills,” wrote Rod Dobson.

Others took issue with the kangaroo’s knowledge of the road rules.

“Yeah, the kangaroo pulled out on him but the driver should have seen that coming,” Daniel Keene wrote.

While Dale Sinclair joked: “There is no ‘Kangaroo Crossing’ sign on that stretch of road, so the roo should have waited for the car to clear the intersection.

“In court, a magistrate would rule in favour of the vehicle driver. The roo doesn’t pay rego so he should stay off the road.”

Last year, a bounding kangaroo sent a cyclist crashing to the bitumen when it landed in front of him on a Canberra road.
