Dozens of children has escaped unharmed after a runaway truck veered off a Melbourne road and crashed into a daycare centre.

Emergency services were called just before 10am after the truck crashed into the Ferntree Gully Children's Centre on the Burwood Highway.

Truck driver Gary Singh had delivered a car to a dealership but left the handbrake off while he left the vehicle unattended.
