Teenage driver dies after crashing into truck in NSW police chase

A teenage driver has died after crashing into a truck during a police pursuit on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Police tried to stop the driver in Kempsey about 2am before chasing the driver on the Pacific Highway to north of Macksville, a distance of about 50km, where the driver then crashed into a B-double truck.

The driver died at the scene.

The truck driver was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

NSW police have called in a critical incident team to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
