Driver escapes terrifying alleged reckless lane merge crash unharmed

A Sydney motorist was forced to put a cable road divider to the test after she was sent screaming off the side of the road in a motorway merging accident.

Sarah Healy says she was trying to overtake a vehicle in the middle lane on Sydney’s M5 motorway last Wednesday when she was hit "out of nowhere".

Dashcam shows a white Holden performance vehicle crashes into her car, shunting her into the road divider screaming and yelling expletives.

"He's come flying up the left lane then as soon as there was enough gap between the car in front of him and the car on his right in the middle lane he's flown across to the middle lane not noticing that I was merging over," she wrote.

Despite breaking the metal fencing with the force of their cars, the road divider managed to prevent both drivers from ramming into northbound motorists.

The crash happened south of Camden Valley Way in Casula, at 10.06pm. Police said they have no record of injuries in the incident.
