Driver dies in serious crash outside Mount Pleasant in Adelaide Hills region

A motorist has died in a crash near Mount Pleasant in the Adelaide Hills region this morning.

The car collided with a tree on Torrens Valley Road, between Mount Pleasant and Birdwood, just after 10.30am.

Police and emergency services attended the scene, approximately 150m north of Randell Road.

The road has subsequently been closed and is expected to be reopened later today.

Traffic is being diverted around the scene via Randell Road and Ken Hicks Road.

Major crash investigators are attending the scene.
