Driver charged over fatal SA crash

A man is set to face court over a crash that claimed the life of a 23-year-old Adelaide woman.

Emergency services were called to Waterloo Corner, north of the CBD, on Saturday after two cars collided.

The young woman, who was a passenger in one of the cars, died at the scene.

The driver of that car, a 23-year-old man also from Adelaide, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car, a 47-year-old man, was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital, where he was looked over for minor injuries.

He was later arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious harm by dangerous driving.

The man, from the inner western suburbs, was granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in April.

The woman's death brings the state's 2020 road toll to 29, compared to 25 at the same time last year.
