Driver charged after pedestrian hit and killed on Sydney street
A driver has been charged and her licence suspended after she allegedly ploughed into two women crossing a road, killing one and injuring the other.
The pair were at the intersection of Canley Vale Road and Sackville Street in the south-western Sydney suburb of Canley Vale about 6.20am yesterday morning when a 4WD turned right and struck them.
A 64-year-old woman died at the scene.

Another woman, aged 65, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital after sustaining bone fractures.
Police say the 52-year-old driver of the 4WD has now been charged with several offences, including dangerous and negligent driving and not giving way at lights to a pedestrian.

The driver underwent mandatory testing at Liverpool Hospital before she was taken to Fairfield Police Station where she was charged.
The woman was granted bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court on January 25.
