The seven cyclists were taken to hospital with "various injuries ranging from abrasions to serious spinal fractures" after a four-wheel drive allegedly crashed into them on Southern Cross Drive early on a Saturday morning in March, police say.

The driver, 27, was spoken to by police at the scene and on Wednesday was charged with four counts of driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, three counts of causing bodily harm by misconduct and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
