Dragons fullback Josh Dugan accuses Storm's Jesse Bromwich of biting
Melbourne Storm prop Jesse Bromwich is set to come under scrutiny from the NRL match review committee after being accused of biting Dragons fullback Josh Dugan during his side's victory over St George Illawarra last night.
Dugan was involved in a three man tackle on Bromwich in the 69th minute when he claimed the Kiwi international bit him on the arm.
Trailing 22-0 at the time, Dugan helped bring Bromwich to the ground and had his arm wrapped around the frontrower's neck as they laid on the turf.
Although video footage was inconclusive, the Dragons No.1 immediately reacted in anger as he jumped to his feet before later complaining to referee Matt Cecchin during a break in play.
Pointing to a mark on his arm, Dugan told the whistleblower he had been bitten prompting Cecchin to place Bromwich on report.
The incident took the gloss off a commanding 22-4 victory for the Storm, while the Dragons suffered their seventh straight loss to drop out of the top eight.
