A man has been arrested after allegedly crashing into a parked car and fence before running from the scene in Adelaide overnight.

Police were called to Scarborough Terrace at Dover Gardens about 11.30pm after receiving reports a blue Toyota Camry had collided with a car before crashing through a fence and into the front yard of a property.

Officers arrived to find a man covered in blood walking away from the wreckage.

Police have arrested a man after he collided with a parked car and a fence in Dover Gardens overnight. SA Police

The man attempted to run from the scene, jumping into the yard of another property.

Police ran after the 42-year-old man, before arresting him nearby.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

A sample of his blood was taken and will be forensically analysed.

Police have charged the man with failing to stop and exchange details after a crash, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

He was granted police bail to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on January 2.
