A crowdfunding campaign to help a Perth man being treated for a rare flesh-eating disease in a Brisbane hospital is nearing its $10,000 target.
According to the GoFundMe page created by Teagan Perry, her uncle Paul Campbell is expected to remain in Royal Brisbane Hospital's intensive care unit for weeks after being diagnosed with the bacterial infection necrotizing fasciitis.
The online campaign has raised more than $7000 in the past fortnight to help pay for Mr Campbell's household bills in Perth and the cost of accommodating family members who are by his bedside in Brisbane.
