Dockers pay tribute to MH17 victims

Victims of flight MH17 have been remembered by the Fremantle Dockers at their match against Carlton in Perth.

The purple-clad team wore black armbands at the game at Patersons Stadium last night as a mark of respect for the 298 lives lost.

There was a video tribute and guard of honour formed by friends of Mo, Evie and Otis Maslin, the three young Fremantle Football Club members who were killed in the disaster, as their parents released three purple balloons into the sky.

The team asked those attending the match to take time to reflect on how the tragedy has affected the local community.

On Sunday, Scotch College, where Mo was a year seven student, will hold a service of celebration and thanksgiving for family and friends of the Maslins and the Norrises.

The siblings' grandfather Nick Norris also died in the crash. He was accompanying the youngsters home after a holiday in Europe.
