Dinner with PM, Shorten or Hugh Jackman?

A dinner with Malcolm Turnbull is proving more popular than breakfast with Tony Abbott.

Both experiences are up for grabs as part of a charity fundraiser that coincides with the federal parliamentary press gallery's mid-winter ball being held on Wednesday night in Parliament House.

A meal with the prime minister had received eight bids up to $6200 as of Tuesday night, while a kitchen cabinet-esque dinner for four at the communications minister's Canberra home was going for $8100 after 11 bids.

But the most popular experience has been dinner for two with the Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, and Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in the Big Apple.

That was tipping $25,000 after 48 bids.

A dinner with Labor leader Bill Shorten and shadow treasurer Chris Bowen was still up for grabs with no takers at the $4000 starting price.

Also available is an AFL experience with new Greens' leader Richard Di Natale and two of his colleagues.

The proceeds of the eBay charity auction, which has raised nearly $3 million since 2000, will go this year to the Luke Batty Foundation and Rare Cancers Australia.
