The younger brother of Bourke St rampage accused Dimitrious Gargasoulas has appeared in court on fresh allegations he assaulted a woman in suburban Melbourne while armed with a knife.

Police documents allege Angelo Gargasoulas, 26, trespassed at a Carlton address and assaulted the woman, who is known to him, with a knife on Saturday.

Gargasoulas was charged on Saturday with eight offences, which include possessing a controlled weapon, possessing the illegal drug ice, unlawful assault with a knife, trespass and property damage.

He was charged after allegedly damaging a glass door, valued at $500, and a $100 mobile phone, on the same day as the alleged assault.

He made no application for bail during a brief filing hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

Gargasoulas was remanded into custody, with his case to be mentioned again in October.
