Deputy PM to visit Ravenshoe

Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss will travel to Ravenshoe next week to meet locals affected by the deadly cafe explosion.

Federal parliament marked a moment's silence on Tuesday for the two people who died and seven others seriously injured by the blast at the Serves You Right Cafe, triggered when an out-of-control ute crashed into a gas bottle behind the eatery.

Mr Truss told parliament he will meet with the north Queensland community on Monday and discuss possible federal government assistance.
