Defence pensioners seek better deal
AAP
Disabled former defence personnel want the federal government to lift their pensions to better compensate them for the rising cost of living.
The Australian Federation of Totally and Permanently Incapacitated Ex-Servicemen and Women want the economic loss component of the special rate and TPI pensions restored to 100 per cent of the minimum wage.
Federation president Tony Mockridge said the most physically and psychologically disabled veterans could no longer produce an income for themselves or their families.
