Defence minister flies out for ISIS talks

Defence Minister Marise Payne is heading to Copenhagen for talks with fellow ministers from the US-led coalition in the Middle East.

The minister will meet her counterparts, including US Defense Secretary James Mattis, on Tuesday to discuss military campaigns in Iraq and Syria and to progress the fight against the Islamic State terrorist group.

"The coalition will continue to support Iraq and its security forces so it is able to keep its people safe, maintain appropriate control over its territory and combat Daesh," Senator Payne said in a statement on Monday.
