Deer approaches hunter for head scratch

The natural order has been turned on its head, after a US man posted a video showcasing an “unreal" encounter with a deer that approached him during a hunting trip.

Wisconsin man Jordan Maxon was setting up a deer stand in Clear Lake when a young buck began watching him from a distance, he told local broadcaster KSTP.

The buck lingered for around five minutes before inching closer until Mr Maxon found he was able to scratch the crown of the deer’s head.

The animal then left the clearing where Mr Maxon was stationed. Mr Maxon, who filmed the encounter on his phone, posted the video to his YouTube page earlier this week.

"In my 12 years of hunting, or the additional decade of experiences of going hunting with my dad and uncles, I have never seen or experienced anything like this,” Mr Maxon wrote in the video’s caption.
