Daughter of Cairns massacre accused says she still loves mum
Cairns murder accused Raina Thaiday.
The daughter of the Cairns woman accused of murdering eight children has taken to Facebook to say she loves her mother "no matter what".
Norena Warria, the daughter of 37-year-old Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday, said over Christmas that she missed both her mother and her seven siblings, who were killed in the shocking massacre.
"No Matter What, I Am My Mother's Child," Ms Warria wrote.
Ms Thaiday will appear in court on January 30.
She has been flown to a Brisbane hospital for medical assessment after police found her with stab wounds.
The eight young victims are expected to be buried in the new year.
Neighbours had previously spoken of Ms Thaiday's erratic recent behaviour, including giving fiery sermons in the street and banning technology from the house.
It is believed that soon before the children were found dead, Ms Thaiday had fought with one of her daughters who had stayed out late.
Police have also speculated the illegal drug ice may have played a role in the massacre.
