Multiple fire crews battling large bushfire burning near Darwin
A large bush fire is burning near Darwin with multiple crews at the scene battling the blaze.
The Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NT PFES) said authorities are responding to the grass fire near Pioneer Drive and Jefferis Road at Humpty Doo.
“Current reports are that visibility is extremely poor due to smoke,” the statement said.

“Please avoid the area if possible for your safety and to allow emergency responders clear access.
“Motorists please drive with your headlights on and slow down.”
The fire remains at an ‘Advice’ alert level and roads in the surrounding area are not yet closed.
