Darryl Kerrigan’s famous Victorian castle back on the market

In 1997, Darryl Kerrigan knew he had a prized piece of real estate and 17-years on nothing has changed.

The fictional Mr Kerrigan’s famous holiday house from the film The Castle is back on the market, which means prospective buyers have the opportunity to own a slice of Australian film history.

The Maintongoon Road shack in Victorian holiday town Bonnie Doon is located opposite Lake Eildon and flanked by an empty paddock.

Inside it boasts two bedrooms, and an open-plan kitchen for all kinds of family discussions, with an asking price of $240,000.

The Kerrigans' castle, complete with jousting sticks, was last on the market three years ago, but failed to attract buyers.

Since then the owner has rented it out to holidaymakers.

So, for city dwellers keen to soak up the serenity, this might be the castle you've been looking for.
