Darius Boyd 'still alive, in good shape,' says wife

NRL star Darius Boyd appears to have bounced back from his recent bout of depression, reconciling with his wife Kayla Heathcote and joining her on a holiday to the Greek Islands.

Heathcote posted a stunning photograph of the couple on Instagram with a message to Boyd's Newcastle Knights teammate Alex McKinnon and McKinnon's wife, News Corp reports.

"Here is one just for you Alex McKinnon," wrote Heathcote, a dress designer.

"He's still alive and in pretty good shape as you can see. Miss you guys and lots of love to you both."

Heathcote posted another photo of Boyd standing on the yacht they hired for the holiday, saying: "BOYD — bulking, buffed and bronzed."

Boyd recently spent three weeks in a Sydney mental health facility after being diagnosed with depression.

He had endured some negative publicity leading up to the rehab treatment, including a bizarre encounter with a Nine News reporter and revelations that he caused $1500 damage to a luxury hotel room in the NSW Hunter Valley.
