Mystery as police find thousands of dollars floating down NSW creek
Police have fished thousands of dollars worth of notes out of a NSW creek.
The $50 notes were spotted floating down the Mullet Creek on Bong Bong Rd in Dapto, Wollongong this morning by a schoolboy.

However, where the cash came from remains a mystery.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District say the fire brigade helped them retrieve the cash using a long-handled net.
The NSW State Emergency Service also went to help with a boat.
Police inquiries are continuing.
