Man guilty of ploughing down neighbour in 4WD

Michael Kimmorley was collateral damage.

A neighbourhood dispute had been brewing for months on the streets of Lalor Park, before the father-of-five was forced to step-in.

At the Penrith District Court on Monday, Daniel Horvath, 26, admitted to ploughing Mr Kimmorley down in his black 4WD. Horvath pleading guilty to one count of causing grievous bodily harm.

It was Australia Day, 2016, when witnesses saw Daniel Horvath come screeching around the corner of Noakes Parade at speed.

Earlier in the evening he had threatened two of Mr Kimmorley's children.

Mr Kimmorley was standing in the middle of the road, as Mr Horvath approached in his 4WD, dashcam inside the car picking up his intentions.

"Alright, ready. Get the camera out. I am going to run him over. I don't care. I'm running 'em over."

After ploughing into Mr Kimmorley, he can then be heard pondering, "Kill him? Run him over?"

Mr Horvath then revved the engine and accelerated towards the father-of-five, catapulting him to the ground.

The 260year-old then reversed the vehicle over Mr Kimmorley's left leg and foot.

While driving away he said, "I don't care, I'm going to kill him."

"I don't care, I'm going to jail, I'm happy."

20 months and 26 surgeries later, the Mr Kimmorley is still healing, and needs crutches to walk.

The grandfather told 9News he is still in severe pain.

"Well I haven't really lived the last two years. My life's been put on hold," said Mr Kimmorley.

"I've asked a thousand times, you know, what sort of person does that."

During an interview with arresting police, Horvath falsely accused Kimmorley of wielding a gun, saying he hadn't intended to hit him.

"He jumped in front of the car. It's on the dash cam, have a look at the footage," said Mr Horvath.

Daniel Horvath now faces a maximum sentence of 25 years jail.

He will be sentenced February 2, 2018.
