Woman dies after being hit by car

A woman aged in her 50s has died after being hit by a car in Melbourne’s south-east this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Stud Road, Dandenong, after reports of the crash about 1.05pm.

It is believed the woman was attempting to cross the road at the time. Paramedics tried to revive her, but she died at the scene.

The 24-year-old man behind the wheel of the car is now assisting police.
