Sentencing for Qld daughter killer delayed

The sentencing of a Queensland father who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his young daughter has been postponed.

Matthew Lee Williamson was due to be sentenced in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday over the death of three-year-old Kyhesha-Lee Joughin.

But the court has adjourned the matter to a later date due to bad weather in the city, caused by a low that developed out of Cyclone Debbie.

Brisbane is forecast to see rain falls of up to 200mm or more.

Kyhesha-Lee died in died in March 2013 after suffering prolonged physical and sexual abuse.

During an earlier hearing, Williamson testified he didn't take his daughter to a doctor despite her vomiting for days, having obvious facial bruising and blood in her nappies.

Williamson, who the court heard slept most of the day, admitted using rope to keep Kyhesha locked in her bedroom for long periods.
