'Moderate' possibility Jasper could re-develop into cyclone
Some weather models are suggesting Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper could redevelop into a tropical cyclone next week.
After hitting the Queensland coast on Wednesday evening as a category 2 system, it rapidly weakened into a tropical low as it made its way over the state.
Thunderstorms and heavy rains have continued to batter parts of the state.

If Jasper sits over the Gulf of Carpentaria gathering energy, there are fears it could re-intensify near the Top End.
According to some Bureau of Meteorology models, if the ex-cyclone lingers over the water in the Gulf of Carpentaria, or further north in the Arafura Sea over the coming week, it could regain some power.
The BoM indicated there was a "moderate" risk – 25 to 30 per cent – Jasper would re-intensify into a tropical cyclone from late Wednesday.
Today, the storm cell was causing heavy to locally intense rainfall over inland Cape York Peninsula, according to the weather bureau.
"There is large uncertainty around both its movement and strength from the middle of next week," it said.
"But from late Wednesday, the risk of redevelopment increases and there is a moderate chance through to Saturday."
Residents at risk are advised to stay across all updates from the bureau.
