Cyclist dead after collision with bus on NSW north coast

A cyclist is dead after a crash on the New South Wales north coast yesterday evening.

Just before 6pm, emergency services were called to River St, Maclean, after reports a bus and bicycle had collided.

The cyclist was found dead at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 55.

The 42-year-old bus driver and his sole passenger were not injured.

The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He was then arrested, before being released pending further inquiry.
