Cyclist killed after crashing into parked car in Melbourne

A man has died after crashing into the back of a parked car while cycling along a busy road in Elwood this morning.
Police believe the man, believed to be aged in his 50s, was riding north along Marine Parade, south of Meredith Street, when he crashed about 7am.

Investigators are in the process of notifying the man’s next of kin.
Marine Parade has a cycle lane in between a lane of parked cars and two lanes of motor traffic.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
