Strong home crowd to support the Socceroos against Oman tonight

The Socceroos face another huge challenge in their quest for Asian Cup success, when they take on Oman at Sydney Olympic Park tonight.

They are up against an increasingly desperate Oman, which cannot afford another loss in the tournament.

The biggest danger for Australia is the lost of their captain Mile Jedinak, who is out with an ankle injury.

Tim Cahill has taken on the skipper's duties, leading his country for the second time in his career.

With Jedinak out of the mid-field it comes down to the two Marks, Mark Milligan and Mark Bresciano.

Coach Ange Postecoglou is yet to confirm who will start.

The Socceroos appeared relaxed heading into the stoush, starting as heavy favourites.

A strong home crowd of 50,000 is expected at Stadium Australia for the match, starting at 8pm.
