A 3.1-metre crocodile has been caught on a family's property in the Northern Territory.
A Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture spokeswoman confirmed a crocodile was removed from the Bees Creek residence yesterday morning.
A photo of the crocodile showed its mouth taped up and its limbs free.
"The Crocodile Management Team removed a 3.1 metre saltwater crocodile from a trap on a property at Bees Creek yesterday morning," a spokesperson for the department said.
The Department issued a timely reminder to residents to be cautious around waterways.
"Saltwater crocodiles live in both saltwater and freshwater areas of the Northern Territory and you should Be Crocwise whenever you are near or in a waterway in the Top End."
The NT News reported the crocodile had been lurking in the area for several weeks.
