'Crazy' to defy gay marriage poll: Lib

Cabinet minister Steve Ciobo has warned some of his coalition colleagues not to defy a national vote on same-sex marriage.

"I think it is completely crazy and also exceptionally arrogant for any MP to completely ignore the views of the Australian people and to just do what they want to do," he told Sky News.

Some conservative MPs have indicated they will vote against marriage equality legislation regardless of the people's verdict.
