Former rich-lister Craig Core seeking legal aid to fight fraud allegations

Former property development and businessman Craig Gore has had to apply for legal aid to fight fraud allegations after high-profile lawyers withdrew from his case. 

The one-time rich-lister is facing 12 counts of fraud and another three counts of making decisions while disqualified from managing corporations.

The fraud charges relate to almost $800,000 in superannuation funds. 

Earlier this year, Mr Gore was arrested at Brisbane Airport as he attempted to board a flight to Sweden. 

The 50-year-old was at Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning when law firm Robertson O'Gorman withdrew and he began the process of obtaining publicly-funded legal aid. 

Mr Gore declined to comment to waiting media outside court and his case was adjourned until August 18.
