US basketball team upstaged by cowbell player
A US college basketball team’s cowbell player has upstaged his side’s shock win with a dynamite performance which has gone viral.
The animated Stanford Cardinals band member emerged as the unlikely star of the "March Madness" game.
Live broadcasts of the game repeatedly caught the percussionist well and truly lost in the moment, leading fans to share the video and Tweet about the #StanfordCowbellPlayer.
Even Saturday Night Live's "famed producer Bruce Dickinson" (aka Christopher Walken) would have to admit this is one band that definitely doesn't need any more cowbell.
He wasn’t the only one on the court to lift his game for the big night with the 10th-placed Cardinals beating the 2nd-placed Kansas team.
