Tens of thousands of new COVID-19 cases across NSW, Victoria

NSW has recorded 10,995 cases of COVID-19, with seven more lives lost.

There are currently 1499 people receiving hospital treatment across the state, with 54 people in intensive care units.

Victoria has recorded 10,035 cases of Coronavirus overnight, bringing the total number of active cases across the state to 59,365.

Nine people have succumbed to the virus in the latest reporting period.

There are 502 Victorians in hospital with the virus, with eight of those on ventilators.
