Costly end for MP Laming's oil stunt

An environmental stunt by Liberal MP Andrew Laming has cost him $256.

Mr Laming in March poured highly flammable and toxic bunker fuel from a passenger ship over his hands and the furniture in Parliament House's Federation Chamber during a speech on cruise ships.

The Department of Parliamentary Services has confirmed it billed Mr Laming $256 for cleaning by a contractor, which he has paid.
