Apology to Patricia And Harrison Thomas

On 27 January 2020, Nine News Central West (Nine) reported on an incident involving a kitten that had been killed after falling from a moving vehicle in Wellington. 

Nine wishes to retract the suggestion that the owners of the vehicle had intentionally hurt the kitten. Nine understands the kitten had crawled into the undercarriage of the vehicle and subsequently fell while the vehicle was moving, all without the owners' knowledge. 

Nine understands that the owners, Patricia and Harrison Thomas, are animal lovers, they had been caring for the kitten, and that they were devastated by the accident. 

Nine apologises to Patricia and Harrison for the harm and distress that our report caused them.
