Pair in WA found hundreds of kilometres from quarantine address, police say
Two people in Western Australia have been charged with COVID-19 breaches after they were allegedly found hundreds of kilometres from where they were supposed to be isolating.
A man and a woman, both 48, landed in Perth on a flight from Queensland on Sunday, and were ordered to self-quarantine for 14 days at a Cloverdale address.
However, police claim the pair were not there when officers checked in on Tuesday.

Further inquiries allegedly showed the pair had left the address the day before and booked a flight to Esperance.
Police tracked the pair by their phones, eventually finding them yesterday, driving a car on the Goldfields Highway at Leonora.

They were both arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with the health directions, failing to notify a change of quarantine address, and failing to present for a COVID-19 test within 48 hours of arriving in Western Australia.
They were refused bail and will appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today.
