Woolworths axes most product limits in Victoria as buying behaviour returns to 'normal'

Woolworths has scrapped the majority of its product limits in Victoria as buying behaviour slowly returns to "normal" across the state.

The supermarket giant announced in a statement it would remove most of its product restrictions from tomorrow in-store and online.

Restrictions across 23  product categories which include items such as rice, pasta, flour, mince, sugar, eggs, dairy, bread, tissues, paper towels and more will be lifted.

However toilet paper will remain with a purchase limit of two packs per customer, which continues to apply nationwide.

"We wish to thank customers for returning to their normal shopping routines over the past week," Woolworths stated.

"We'll continue to monitor the situation closely and reinstate product limits if we see further demand spikes."

The restrictions were initially put in place to prevent 'panic buying' amid the coronavirus pandemic, as Victoria continues to grapple with a surge in virus cases.
