Everything you need to know about Victoria's COVID-19 vaccine rollout

Victoria will start vaccinating people who are most at-risk of contracting COVID-19 from Monday.

The first Victorians to get the Pfizer jab for coronavirus will be frontline workers under phase 1A, including hotel quarantine workers staff and port of entry workers who are on the forefront of the state's quarantine system.

"Whether it's the specialist workers at hotel quarantine in Victoria, at the airports, at the COVID specialist wards, the ICU wards, those kind of settings - we will see some significant number of Victorians at the sites start their COVID vaccinations as of Monday," Health Minister Martin Foley said.

Who will be first to get the vaccine?

Hotel quarantine and health hotel workers, airport and port workers, high-risk frontline health staff and public sector residential aged care staff and residents will be first to get the Pfizer vaccine under phase 1A of the roll-out plan.

When will vaccinations start in Victoria?

Victoria will start vaccinating people who are most at-risk of contracting COVID-19 from Monday.

"Whether it's the specialists workers at hotel quarantine in Victoria, at the airports, at the COVID specialist wards, the ICU wards - those kind of settings, we will see some significant number of Victorians at the sites start their COVID vaccinations as of Monday," Mr Foley said today.

Where will Victorians be vaccinated?

Victorians will be able to get the jab across the state's vaccination hubs set up at dedicated hospital facilities, hotel quarantine settings, Melbourne Airport or through mobile outreach teams.

Hospital hubs including Austin Health, Monash Health and Western Health will deliver the initial vaccines to Victoria's most at-risk workers. Alfred Health will also work with the Monash Health hub to deliver vaccines.

The hubs will also deliver the vaccine to public sector residential aged care patients and workers.

The Barwon Health hub will begin its public sector residential aged care program from next week, trialling an outreach model to be implemented across regional Victoria.

Regional Victoria hubs in Albury-Wodonga Health, Ballarat Health Services, Bendigo Health, Goulburn Valley Health, and Latrobe Regional Hospital will begin operating in the coming weeks.
