Queensland records two new local cases of COVID-19, as Gold Coast concern continues

Queensland has recorded two new community cases of COVID-19, as concern over recent mystery cases on the Gold Coast continues.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said both new cases today are in home quarantine and not of concern to health authorities.

The state also recorded two overseas cases, who are both in hotel quarantine and aren't a risk to the community.

However, Ms Palaszczuk said health authorities are still concerned about the Gold Coast.

As Schoolies approaches, she said the community must remain on high alert.

"They are clustering together, so we do need to find that link," she said.

"We do need to find that link and we do need to make sure people are getting tested and people are getting vaccinated."

Some 9000 tests were conducted across the state yesterday.

There are no new cases of the virus on the Gold Coast today after the earlier mystery infections.

The first case was a Pacific Pines man who had one dose of the vaccine and was potentially infectious in the community for up to six days.

The second Gold Coast case is a man in his 50s from Carrara, who works as an Uber driver.

He is fully vaccinated.
