Sydney residents facing stinky bins after COVID-19 diagnosis
Suburbs across Sydney are waiting with full bins after a COVID-19 diagnosis interrupted rubbish collection.
A worker at the Greenacre waste depot tested positive for the coronavirus this week, delaying rubbish collection for one or two days in the Ryde and Canada Bay local government areas.
Both councils issued statements to residents.

Canada Bay residents who were normally scheduled for a Wednesday collection had their bins collected today.
People who had their collections scheduled for today will get their bins picked up on Saturday.
However, those who were set for a Friday pickup should still have their bins picked up tomorrow.
Ryde Council said that waste collection would be delayed by "at least 24 hours".
Collections that were due to take place on Wednesday took place on Thursday, and Thursday collections are set to take place on Friday.

A special Saturday waste collection will be undertaken for services normally conducted on Fridays.
It is expected that all normal household waste collection services will resume from Monday 23 August.
