NSW records 12 new coronavirus cases, one in hotel quarantine

NSW has recorded 12 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, with just one in hotel quarantine.

Three are household cases in a family who acquired the virus in Victoria, NSW Health said.

One case is linked to the Thai Rock restaurant in Wetherill Park, two are linked to the Apollo restaurant in Potts Point, and five are from the Mounties cluster in Mount Pritchard.

NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said three school students have tested positive to the virus – one at Bonnyrigg High School and two at Greenway Park Public School.

"Contact tracing is underway and all students will undertake lessons at home while both schools are closed for cleaning," Dr Chant said.

"Two of these cases were notified after the reporting period and will be included in tomorrow's numbers. All three cases are linked to cases who attended Mounties, Mount Pritchard."

There were 12,876 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, and six coronavirus cases are being treated in ICU.
